PEI IN PICTURES ~ FINAL CHAPTER

My heart overflows with thanksgiving.

I"m thankful for Justin's grandparents, Gram and Gramp Eby, who have given the amazing gift of a vacation place in PEI. I'm thankful for the family and friends that we were able to spend sweet time with on the island. I'm thankful for my three precious little ones--life with them is so joyful and fun. I'm thankful for Justin, my Gilbert Blythe--still my favorite person to spend time with, all these years later.

More than anything, though, I'm thankful for the Creator who made all of this. What a God, to give His children the gifts of love and relationships and beauty and friendship and family and oceans and beaches and toddlers and fish&chips and swimming and sunrises and sunsets... He's given more than we deserve. All we can do is give thanks.

PEI IN PICTURES ~ VERANDA MORNINGS, SUNSET EVENINGS

The picture above is the view from the front porch. As you can imagine, whether it was morning coffee or after-dinner dessert, we spent many a morning or an evening sitting outside on that front porch, listening to the sound of the waves. It's a special spot.

One evening our friends brought over oysters for dinner. All the kids, even Ella, tried and enjoyed them. Not me. Can't stomach the texture. :)

Oysters and lobster made for a decadent feast!

Ice cream at nearby Basin Head Beach.

On the cooler mornings, Justin and the boys made a fire in the stove.

Every year we go to the same spot to watch the sun drop behind the ocean. Simply breathtaking!

PEI IN PICTURES ~ PIZZA PARTY & SQUARE DANCE @ HUMPHREY'S FARM

A fun--and now almost yearly--PEI tradition of spending a wonderful evening at the picturesque Humphrey's Farm, where the party-goers bring toppings and create pizzas that are then cooked in Farmer Don's outdoor oven. It is, by far, the best pizza we've ever eaten.

Following the food, there is a good old fashioned square dance! Jake and Josh had so much fun dancing with their Grandma.

Thank you, Humphrey Family, for your hospitality and generosity. Your farm is beautiful, your pizza delicious, and we're so thankful that you share them with us!
